What’s in the Box

The Minn Kota Heading Sensor (#1866680) is a straightforward accessory kit. Inside the package, you will find:

  • Heading Sensor Unit: The Bluetooth-enabled digital compass (white puck).

  • Integrated Power Cable: A 12.5-foot, 2-wire power lead (22 AWG) already attached to the sensor.

  • Mounting Hardware: Stainless steel screws for securing the sensor to your boat deck.

  • Instruction Manual: Detailed guide for installation, wiring, and the Bluetooth pairing/calibration process.

Quick Setup Reminder

While the sensor is Bluetooth, it still requires a wired 12V DC power connection. It is highly recommended to install a 1-amp inline fuse (not always included) on the positive lead to protect the circuitry.

Pro Tip: Installation & Calibration

To work correctly, the sensor's arrow must point toward the bow and be parallel to the boat's centerline. It should be mounted away from "magnetic interference" like speakers, batteries, or large metal objects. Once installed, you must perform a "Sensor Cal" by driving the boat in two complete circles.
