Antennas & Mounts

(43 products)

When selecting antenna mounts and extensions, the most important factors are the mounting surface (deck, rail, or mast) and the material durability needed for your boating environment. Most marine antennas use a standard 1" x 14 threaded connection.

Versatile Deck and Rail Mounts

These mounts are the most common for powerboats and RIBs, offering flexibility for folding antennas down when trailering or passing under bridges.

  • The Shakespeare 4187 Stainless Steel Ratchet Mount is a heavy-duty industry standard. Its four-way ratchet design allows for easy adjustment on slanted surfaces, and the stainless steel construction provides maximum corrosion resistance for saltwater use.

  • Nylon Four-Way Ratchet Mount is a budget-friendly alternative for smaller antennas. While made of reinforced nylon rather than metal, it still offers the same versatile leveling capabilities for deck or bulkhead mounting.

  • For mounting on a 1" to 1-1/4" pipe, the Shakespeare 4190 Rail Mount is an ideal choice. It features a split-slot design that allows you to install it without having to thread the antenna cable through the mount first.

Antenna Extensions

Extensions are used to lift your antenna above obstructions like radar arches, lights, or bimini tops to ensure a clear line of sight for better signal range.

  • The Shakespeare 4700 Stainless Steel Extension Mast is a 1-foot heavy-duty pipe that is perfect for clearing small obstacles. It features standard male and female 1" x 14 threads, making it compatible with almost all marine antennas and mounts.

  • The Shakespeare 4700-1 FiberGlass Extension Mast is a 1-foot fiberglass version designed to match the aesthetic of fiberglass antennas. It is lightweight and non-conductive, which can be an advantage in certain electrical setups.

Summary Recommendation

  • For durability in saltwater: Go with the Shakespeare 4187 Stainless Steel mount; it is significantly more durable than nylon options.

  • For mounting on railings: Use the Shakespeare 4190 to avoid drilling holes in your deck.

  • To increase signal range: Add a 1-foot extension to get your antenna above other electronics on your hardtop.
