Installation Pro-Tip:

For an 18-inch wide tab, ensuring the transom surface is flat is vital. If your transom has a slight radius, use extra 3M 5200 marine sealant to create a custom gasket behind the hinge to prevent stress on the stainless steel. To get the best performance, mount the tabs as far outboard as possible (usually 3–4" from the side) while ensuring they are at least 8 inches away from the propeller to avoid air cavitation.
