Bob's Machine 6-Inch Fixed Setback Brackets with 1.5-Inch Built-In Lift reposition an outboard motor into cleaner water to improve propeller efficiency and reduce propeller slippage. By moving the motor farther from the hull, these silver fixed setback brackets can reduce drag, improve bow lift, and provide a drier, more controlled ride. The increased propeller-to-hull clearance also supports improved maneuverability when operating the boat in reverse.
Manufactured from heavy-duty 5/8-inch-thick 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, Bob's Machine Part 100-406000-NOPC is engineered for outboard engines producing up to 550 horsepower. The brackets feature an industrial appearance similar to hydraulic jack plates, helping create a consistent, professional look across the transom. Their fixed design delivers a reliable setback solution without the adjustment complexity of a hydraulic system.
Installation is straightforward: remove the outboard motor, attach the brackets directly to the transom using the existing mounting holes, and remount the motor to the brackets. Compatibility with standard BIA bolt patterns eliminates the need to plug and re-glass the original holes.
