Installation Pro-Tips

• Stripping the Wire: Ensure you strip exactly the amount of insulation recommended in the manual. Because this plug handles high current, a loose or "frayed" wire inside the terminal can create a hot spot that could melt the housing.

• The "Drip Loop": When mounting the receptacle, try to leave a small loop in the wires behind the panel. This prevents any condensation or spray that gets behind the dash from running down the wires directly into the terminals.

• No Splicing: For the best performance, run your 6 AWG battery wires directly into the MKR-28 terminals. Avoid using butt-connectors or adapters between the battery and the plug if possible.
