• Cutout Accuracy: Use the provided template to mark your mounting surface. This light requires a rectangular cutout; ensure there is adequate depth (approx. 1.5") behind the mounting surface for the heat sink and wiring.

• Bedding the Light: Apply a small bead of marine-grade sealant (like Sikaflex-291i) under the flange before fastening to ensure a watertight seal against your hardtop or console.

• Wiring Polarity: Like most LEDs, this unit is polarity sensitive. Ensure the positive (Red) and negative (Black) wires are connected correctly. Use heat-shrink butt connectors to prevent salt air from corroding the copper wire.

• Switching: Since these lights are very bright, many captains install them on a dedicated "Spreader" or "Cockpit" switch at the helm for independent control from your navigation or courtesy lights.
